October Arrives In The 88th Assembly District So Enjoy The Weekend

Dear friends and neighbors,

Where did September go? It seems like we were just celebrating Labor Day yet October arrives this weekend. That means a great deal of fun fall activities in the cities, towns and villages of the 88^th Assembly District.

Yom Kippur is also this weekend. Yom Kippur – the Day of Atonement – marks the culmination of the 10 Days of Awe, a period of introspection and repentance. I hope that everyone who is observing has an easy fast.

• The Interdenominational Pastors Council of New Rochelle will conduct a prayer assembly on the steps of New Rochelle City Hall (515 North Avenue) as part of The National Day of Prayer at noon. In the event of rain, the service will be held across the street at The Holy Lighthouse Church.
• The Eastchester Relay for Life will host “Stick a Fork in Cancer”, an event at 10 different restaurants in Eastchester, Tuckahoe and Bronxville. Each restaurant will donate 10 percent of every bill to the American Cancer Society and Eastchester Relay for Life. The Relay will take place on May 21^st at Concordia College.
