Lectures, Movies, Music And More This Weekend In The 88th Assembly District

Dear friends and neighbors,

From “Octoberfest” to Revolutionary War re-enactments, this weekend should prove to be entertaining and exciting in the 88^th Assembly District. Our cities, towns and villages are hosting a wide variety of events that are sure to appeal to everyone.

THURSDAY

• The Picture House (175 Wolfs Lane, Pelham) will present an advance screening of “Coming Through the Rye”, a coming of age story, at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a discussion with director James Sadwith and actor Alex Wolff. Visit thepicturehouse.org for more information.

• YoFiFest, the Yonkers Film Festival, will kick off at The New Rochelle Public Library with a double feature, “East of Eden” and “Viva Zapata”, both of which directed by Elia Kazan, who grew up in New Rochelle. The show begins at 1 p.m. There will be films at Sarah Lawrence College (Bronxville) and the Picture House in Pelham on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, though the festival continues in Yonkers through the 23^rd. • The Bronxville Library (Pondfield Road, Bronxville) will present the documentaries “Primary” and “Crisis a Presidential Commitment” along with commentary from 3-5 p.m. The presentation follows President John Kennedy through real-life events, including his primary battle with Hubert Humphrey and his clash with Alabama governor George Wallace.
