I hope everyone has a happy and healthy Fourth of July weekend. There are concerts, fireworks and more in the 88th Assembly District to help you celebrate. Please remember, though, to leave the fireworks to the professionals. Be careful, be safe and enjoy the long weekend.

THURSDAY

  • The New Rochelle Council on the Arts will continue its “Pop-Up Performances” at the New Rochelle Train Station from 5:30-7 p.m. The concerts will run every Thursday through Aug. 25. Visit newrochellearts.org for more information.

Enjoying The First Official Weekend Of Summer

Thursday

  • The New Rochelle Opera will celebrate its 31st anniversary with a performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s “Il Trovatore” at the Frank Auriana Theatre, Mooney-Hancock Arts Center at the Ursuline School (1354 North Avenue, New Rochelle) at 8 p.m. There will also be performances on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and again Sunday at 3 p.m. Visit nropera.org for more information.
