Another Musical Summer in the 88th Assembly District

Dear friends and neighbors,

We’re nearing the end of June and as the weather starts to get hot so does the music and entertainment scene in the 88th Assembly District. There are plenty of concerts and shows around the district this summer, both during the day and in the evening. Here’s a closer look:

BRONXVILLE

 The Bronxville Pops Concert Band will perform on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. at Bronxville High School [177 Pondfield Road] at 8 p.m. Scheduled concert dates are July 5, 12, 19 and 26.

 EASTCHESTER

 The Summer Sounds 2017 Concert Series at Lake Isle Country Club Driving Range will take place Mondays at 8 p.m. There will be food and drink available for purchase at the Balcony Cafe by Mulinos at Lake Isle.

The 2017 Town of Pelham Summer Concert Series will take place on Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the gazebo at Town House Park.

SCARSDALE

The Westchester Band’s free outdoor concerts return on June 29 at The Scarsdale Pool Complex. Admission is $2 and there will be a fireworks show that night. The remaining concerts are free and take place on Thursdays at Chase Park or at the Scarsdale High School auditorium in the event of rain. These concerts will take place on July 6, July 13, July 20, July 27, August 3, and August 10.

Parties in the Park will take place on select Fridays from 6:00-8:00 pm. There will be live music, entertainment and more!

WHITE PLAINS

The New Westchester Symphony will host “A Summer of Symphonies” with conductor Benjamin Niemczyk. These concerts will take place on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church (250 Bryant Avenue, White Plains).

The City of White Plains will also host Dancing Under the Stars on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. in Renaissance Park [Mamaroneck Avenue and Main Street]. These concerts will pay tribute to great bands and performers.

The Summer SoulSTICE Concert will take place on June 22 from 5-9 p.m. on Church Street at Main Street. The bands The New Review and Shayna Steele will perform. There will also be food, drinks and more to celebrate the longest day of the year.

The City of White Plains will also host Neighborhood Nights Mondays through Thursday at 7 p.m. at various parks throughout the city.

There will be fireworks and Tramps Like Us, a Bruce Springsteen cover band, will play on the main stage from 7:30- 9 p.m. … The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival will present Romeo and Juliet at Turnure Park (South Lake Street) at 7 p.m. … The City will also celebrate the National Night Out on Aug. 1 at police headquarters (77 South Lexington Avenue) with live music by Showtime Music Entertainment.
