Music, Movies And More In The 88th Assembly District

Dear friends and neighbors,

The summer certainly seems to be speeding by. We’re closing in on the end of July but there are still plenty of things to do and see in the cities, towns and villages of the 88th Assembly District. There are movies, concerts and much more to enjoy this weekend.

THURSDAY

  • A Glen Campbell Tribute band will perform at noon in Renaissance Park (Mamaroneck Avenue and Main Street, White Plains) as part of the city’s Noon Day Concert series. Visit cityofwhiteplains.com for more information.

  • The New Rochelle Council on the Arts will continue its “Pop-Up Performances” at the New Rochelle Train Station from 5:30-7 p.m. The concerts will run every Thursday through Aug. 25. Visit newrochellearts.org for more information.
  • The Westchester Band, under the direction of Allan Hollander, will perform at Chase Park in Scarsdale at 8 p.m. The concert will be held at Scarsdale High School in case of rain. Visit scarsdale.com for more information.
  • The Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum (895 Shore Road, Pelham Bay Park) will kick off its Sunset Classical Concert Series with performances by award-winning cellists Ani Kalayjian and Robert Burkhart. Visit bartowpellmansionmuseum.org for more information.

  • The Westchester Italian Cultural Center (24 Depot Square, Tuckahoe) will continue its Cinema Sotto le Stelle Series with a 7 p.m. viewing of “Roman Holiday” plus a concert by the Pierre Piscitelli Trio.   • The Concordia Conservatory Summer Music Festival will conclude with a 6:30 p.m. production of HATS at the Sommer Center (171 White Plains Road, Bronxville) and a 7:30 p.m. Camp Band Bash Concert at the Campus Center. Spring Forward Into The Weekend

We’ll move step closer to spring this weekend when we set the clocks ahead one hour. Sunset will be closer to 7 p.m. so go out and enjoy all the wonderful things the 88th Assembly District gas to offer this weekend. There are concerts, shows, parades and much more for everyone to experience in our cities, towns and villages.

  • The Midland Music Series returns to the Bronxville Women’s Club (135 Midland Avenue, Bronxville) with a 7:30 p.m. performance by pianist Lisa Yui. She has served as the piano department chair of the Music Advancement Program at the Juilliard School and has taught a course on the social history of the piano at Marymount Manhattan College for many years.
