The Concert Across America to End Gun Violence, which will take place on Sept. 25, is a national event aimed at drawing attention to the epidemic of gun violence that has claimed the lives of so many. There will be concerts across the country, including one that I will be presenting in partnership with The City of New Rochelle.
The concert will take place at the Hudson Park Bandshell in New Rochelle beginning at noon. It will run through late afternoon with a wonderful lineup of local talent set to perform. The New Rochelle High School Choir, Larger Than Life, Jim Murtagh and Band, Skinny Blonde and the Troubadour-to-Door/Alex Forbes are all scheduled to perform.
There will be plenty of food, wonderful company and great time should be had by all. It’s a fantastic way to come together as a community and make our voices heard as we look to bring an end to gun violence not only in Westchester but across the country. September 25 is also a Congressionally designated day of Remembrance of Murder Victims.
Event sponsors include New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, Million Moms March, The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, The Loft LGBT Center, Westchester Now and The Scarsdale Congregational Church/Interfaith Coalition Against Gun Violence.
I look forward to seeing everyone there. I will continue to post updates on all my social media sites as we get closer to the concert. Keep a look out for them and try to make plans to stop in and join us for this very important event.
