FEMA Extends Assistance Deadline

Governor Cuomo announced that that FEMA has given New York a 30-day extension for applying for individual assistance for relief from Sandy. The new deadline is Feb. 27. FEMA has also extended access to its Transitional Sheltering Assistance program through Feb. 9. That means that new Yorkers impacted by the storm will be able to stay in hotels until checking out on Sunday Feb. 10 if their homes were damaged by the storm.
